Neuronal mechanisms of functional recovery after brain and spinal cord injury in macaque models

Tadashi Isa is a professor at Division of Physiology and Neurobiology, Department of Neuroscience and a chair of the Human Brain Research Center, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University and heads the Isa Lab.  He aims at clarifying the neural circuit mechanims for the control of the dexterous movements of the hand and eyes, and related congive processes, and functional recovery of these functions after brain/spinal cord injury.

Research Interests 
Neural circuit mechanism for the fine motor control such as dexterous hand movements and saccadic eye movements.
Large-scaled network reorganization during recovery from spinal cord injury.
Neural mechanism of blindsight.
Local circuit mechanism of midbrain superior colliculus.
